FACEBOOK linked with Opera buy out

Pocket-Lint today published a rumour from one of their ‘trusted’ sources that Facebook is in talks to buy the browser company Opera.

Maybe after all their spats with Google in recent years they’ve decided to take the approach of if you can’t beat ’em… join ’em.

My only hope is that they don’t try to gather even more personal information from users than they do already with the facebook website and mobile apps.

I’m actually quite a big fan of the Opera mobile browser and as a web designer it offers some great tools for live debugging when you are creating a new site.  But do I really want Mark Zuckerberg to know all about my new websites and start planning how he can advertise to my visitors even before the site has gone live… I think not.
